Ok, so I totally need to get on here and post the pictures from my baby showers. Unfortunately I am just behind on getting that done, and come to think of it I still haven't gotten the CD of photos from my work shower. More about them when I post pictures, but I will say people love to buy baby clothes. I just hope he is in newborn sizes long enough to at least where most of his stuff at least once. It cracked me up when people would apologize for getting "practical stuff", like something practical from the registry or diapers or wipes. I had to keep saying that that practical stuff is super important and we are so grateful for it. The blend of practical and fun gifts was great. I did find that people preferred to shop off the Target registry than the Babies R Us. My guess is that is because there are more Targets around and most people don't head to Babies R Us unless they have kids or are buying a gift, but people go to Target for all kinds of things and can just drop by that department while already shopping. My only disappointment was that even with the two showers we only got two items from his nursery set, but I think that is what we will use our Babies R Us giftcards for and then just cover the rest. I can't wait until we move and I can get him a room all set up!!!!
Teresa brought Jack to the shower with her. He is getting to be such a big boy. So handsome!!!! I think him and Clint will have a ton of fun playing together when they get a bit older.
So I am now to my weekly checkups. I had my first of the weekly visits on Monday. We went over our birth plan, which frankily kind of makes me laugh because there is really no way at all to know what you are really going to want or feel like since there is no way to practice labor. lol. They also did the Strep B test and checked to see if I had started to efface. Indeed I had, my cervix is getting softer and moving forward. That doesn't give us a timeline but it does tell us that my body is doing what it is supposed to do. She didn't say anything though about being dialated at all yet. Maybe in the upcoming weeks it will start to happen. Next visit is next Wednesday, then the following Tuesday.
I also started going to the chiropractor for the car accident. She said there is only so much we can do at this point since my body is all shifting around because of the baby and getting ready to give birth. Following his birth I'll go in while my body is still really movable and then we will get me all fixed up before everything sets again. So in some ways my recovery will be easier than Daley's. He is still hurting pretty bad. My car is totalled by the way. We are waiting to see the final dollar amount they are going to give us for her. I guess this was one way to get my minivan but not at all how I was hoping it would happen.
Finally, just for fun, I am totally following in Teresa's footsteps. My feet are hugely swollen. I am talking like marshmellow woman swollen and they HURT. I can't wait for Clint to be born so all this fluid goes away. I had a couple days where they got better but they are pretty bad again. I am up two shoe sizes and the swelling still poofs out of the top of the shoes. I have been hot/cold treatments on them which helps the pain mostly and the swelling a little bit. I'll try to get a picture to show you all how funny they look right now.
More updates soon hopefully. He is term now so he can come anytime, so who knows what the next post will bring.
